Wanda Kaye Mullins



Wanda Kaye Mullins, age 77, of Brownstown, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Mullins attended Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, and she previously belonged to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Posse. Mrs. Mullins enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Kaye enjoyed horseback riding, riding her mule, and working on vehicles with her late husband.

Born on June 2, 1945, in the Maumee community, she was the daughter of Clone and Myrtle Fleetwood Fleetwood, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 26, 1978, at Kurtz, she married Wallace “Wally” L. Mullins, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2018.

Survivors include two brothers: Donald Fleetwood of Heltonville, and Larry (Debbie) Fleetwood of Columbus; three sisters: Lorietta Fern (Jack) Steele of Spencer, Ruth Parker of Brownstown, and Debbie (David) Hamilton of Brownstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and husband, Kaye was also preceded in death by two brothers: Arnold “Francis” Fleetwood and Ray Fleetwood; one sister, Jean Hilderbrand; two sisters-in-law: Eva Fleetwood and Janet Fleetwood; three brothers-in-law: Larry Parker, Kevin Otte, and Rodney Hilderbrand.

Funeral services for Wanda Kaye Mullins will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Kurtz Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, Brownstown Church of the Nazarene, and Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
