Mary Katherine (Moore) Rose, 97, of Crothersville, IN went home to be with Jesus, at 6:15 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. Mary K. was born on Saturday, February 20, 1926, in Paris Crossing, IN, to Alfred and Lillie V. (Sparks) Moore. On August 29, 1942, in Jennings County, IN, Mary K. married Arlie Thomas “Bob” Rose. They were blessed with 61 years together before Bob’s passing on December 2, 2003. Mary K. worked at Snow’s Restaurant in Crothersville, IN as a waitress, the U.S. Shoe Factory in Crothersville, IN, and Excello Shirt Factory in Seymour, IN, where she was a seamstress at both. She was an excellent seamstress with perfection and used her talent to make numerous wedding gowns, prom dresses, and provide alternations to all in need of a “stitch fix”. She was known as the “seamstress” for the community. She was a member at the Crothersville Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School, served as the church treasurer, board member, and missionary president. She was a member of the Crothersville Senior Citizens and the secretary/treasurer. She loved to collect antiques, work crossword puzzles, sew, quilt, and was an excellent cook. Mary K. was a devout Christian, loving, kindhearted, and the epitome of a role model for everyone that knew her. Mary K. is survived by her son, Roger M. (Monica) Rose of Paris Crossings, IN, 5 grandchildren, Todd D. (Dana) Rose, Adam C. (Darci) Rose Surface, Michael (Ashley) Booth, Michelle (Jonathan) Ferguson, Cyndi M. (Nat) Day, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Cora M. Green of North Vernon, IN, and 1 son-in-law, Mitchell Booth of Logansport, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lillie V. (Sparks) Moore, husband, Arlie Thomas “Bob” Rose, 1 son, Ronald L. Rose, 1 daughter, Rhonda Kay Booth, 1 grandson, Rodger Steven Rose, 2 brothers, Earl and Forest Moore, and 1 brother-in-law, Paul Green. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Crothersville Nazarene Church, 606 E. Bard Street, Crothersville, IN, with burial to follow at the Crothersville cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory~Crothersville and on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
