Sue Ann Claycamp, 72, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born on February 17, 1951, in Seymour, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Hackman) Darlage. On October 1, 2000, she married Lawrence Claycamp in the chapel of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by three children, Scott Thomas Klakamp of Jonesville, IN, Jeffrey (Melanie) Klakamp of Seymour, and Christopher (Amanda) Klakamp of Jeffersonville, IN; three stepchildren, Steve (companion Donetta) Claycamp) of North Vernon, Gary (Stacy) Claycamp of Daphne, AL, and John Claycamp of Jonesville. In addition to her husband and children, Sue Ann is survived by ten grandchildren, Kiah, Hunter, Conner, Cameron, Curry, Kelisi, Giovanni, Carter, Maia, and Milo; seven step grandchildren, Sean, Andrew, Heather, Arianna, Lawrence, Devin, and Nathanial; three great grandchildren, Veda, Scarlett, and Oliver; one sister, Debra (Harry) Rochner of Brownstown; and two brothers-in-law, Larry (Janice) Claycamp, and Don (Wilma) Claycamp.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy Darlage and one brother-in-law, Dean Claycamp.

Sue was a 1969 graduate of Brownstown High School. After high school she attended college and went on to work in the Seymour Public Schools as a teacher’s assistant, library assistant, and a special education assistant for twenty-six years until retiring in 2012. While working at the Seymour Schools, Sue also worked at the Goody’s Clothing Store. When she wasn’t working, Sue enjoyed spending time with her family, attending sporting events, and if she wasn’t watching a sporting event or with her family, she could be found out shopping. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lawrence, especially to the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg where she and Lawrence were planning a trip this fall too. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild.

Funeral services for Sue will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. Philip Bloch officiating. Burial will follow at White Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
