Seymour Evening Lions Club golf scramble set

The 21st annual Seymour Evening Lions Club golf scramble will be Aug. 26 at Shadowood Golf Course, 333 N. Sandy Creek Drive, Seymour.

Registration opens at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee for a four-person team is $300 or $75 per person. This includes green fees, range balls, cart rental, dinner, soft drinks and door prizes.

There is a maximum of 18 teams that can register. The entry deadline to register is Aug. 23.

First place prize is $800, second place is $400 and third place is $300. A hole-in-one is a $1,000 cash prize from Bob Poynter Family of Dealerships.

A putting contest is part of the event for a $5 entry fee. Each contestant will be allowed two putts, and the winner will receive 50% of the total purse. There is one entry per player, and closest to the pin wins.

Mulligans may be purchased at registration for $5 each with a limit of two per player. One mulligan will be free with the donation of used eyeglasses with a limit of two per team.

Proceeds from this event will support Lions Club projects in Seymour that involve vision, hunger, the environment, childhood cancer and diabetes.
