Seymour man arrested on multiple felony drug charges

A Seymour man was arrested Monday on multiple felony drug charges after being found in a shed, police report.

Braden Scott Jackson, 23, was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony; dealing in narcotics, a Level 6 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony; dealing in marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor, according to a news release from Seymour Police Department Lt. C.J. Foster.

On Monday, patrol officers responded to the 800 block of Jackson Street for a welfare check on an individual who was on drugs in a shed, Foster said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Jackson, who seemed to be somewhat lethargic. Officers then received permission to search the location.

During the search, officers located suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, suspected fentanyl, suspected marijuana, suspected psilocybin (commonly known as mushrooms), various prescription medications, drug paraphernalia and three firearms, Foster said.

Jackson was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 3:47 p.m. Monday and remained there without bond pending his initial court appearance.
