Sheffer, Braves win Mid-Southern Conference

The Brownstown Central boys golf team won the Mid-Southern Conference on Saturday at Wooded View Golf Course for the first time since 2016.

The Braves shot a season-best score of 314 to edge out Silver Creek, who was second with 318. Scottsburg shot a 347, Corydon 349, Austin 351, Salem 375, Charlestown 394, North Harrison 395 and Eastern 445.

Micah Sheffer was the MSC individual champion with a round of 73.

Smith Hackman shot a personal-best 79 to earn MSC all-conference, and Matthew Reedy also shot a personal-best score of 80 to earn all-conference.

Caiden Gwin shot an 82 to place 10th and earn all-conference, and Chandler Stahl shot an 83 to earn MSC honorable mention.

The Braves will be hosting Jennings County at Hickory Hills Golf Club later today at 4:30 p.m.
