Norma Jean Neukam, 77, of Seymour passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born on March 22, 1946, in Indianapolis, IN., she was the daughter of Otis Arley and Doris Elizabeth (Tatlock) Lee. She moved to the family farm south of Tampico when she was three weeks old.

Norma was a member of Tampico Baptist Church and attended Tampico High School for eleven years. Due to consolidation of schools, she graduated from Brownstown Central High School in 1964. She was a cheerleader for the Tampico Bobcats in 1961, 1962, and 1963. She retired from Swifty Farms in 2009 after eighteen years of service. Norma was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1733 holding all Degrees, and the Eagles Auxiliary FOE 655, where she was past president. She was a life member and past president of VFW Post 1925 Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 89, AM Vet Post #7 of North Vernon, and was an active volunteer with the Jackson County Historical Society. She was also a member of the NRA and the Jackson County Pioneer Club.

Norma is survived by her two children, Kimberly Sue Browning and Richard Lee Bedwell; five grandchildren, Michael Richard (Chelsea) Burrell II, Tara Lee (Jacob) DeWitt, Ashley Elizabeth Browning, Jessica Lee Ann (Dakotah Pearson) Browning, and Dakota Kirk; and five great grandchildren, Rylan Joseph Burrell, Ethan Michael Scott, Camdyn Michael Burrell, Mia Jade Burrell and Cole William Nichols.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Russell Ray Bedwell; two granddaughters, Amanda Marie Burrell and Jennifer Leigh Burrell; two great granddaughters, Paisley &Presly Burrell; and one sister, Linda Kay Lee.

Funeral services will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Russell Chapel Cemetery in Tampico where she served as the caretaker for many years.

Friends may call at the Voss and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
