Indiana University Southeast recognizes new grads

Indiana University Southeast recognized 788 graduates, including seven from Jackson County and five more from Jennings County, during a ceremony Monday on the campus in New Albany.

The Jackson County graduates include Jami Christopher and Hannah Lynn Fisher, both of Brownstown, Griffin W. Morris of Medora and Darian Collier, Michelle Lynn Hoene, Emilee Suzanne Lang and Brandon Thomas Terrell, all of Seymour.

The list of Jennings County graduates includes Mackenzie Alyce Byram, Canaan Joseph Diekhoff, Breann Marie Mefford, Carissa Jo Sabelhaus and Abigayle Marie Stark, all of North Vernon.

In total, 799 degrees were conferred, including 655 bachelor’s degrees, 140 master’s degrees and four associate degrees. The Class of 2023 ranges in age from 20 to 74 and hails from 37 Indiana counties, 12 U.S. states and 16 countries of origin. More than 28% of these candidates became the first in their families to attain an undergraduate degree.
