SEYMOUR

Mrs. Zola Hughes, 80, of Seymour, passed away May 3, 2023. She was born August 16, 1942, in Busy Kentucky. Zola was the daughter of the late Elijah Stacy and Manda Stacy.

On March 11, 1961, she married Curtis Hughes in Cincinnati, OH.

She is survived by her children Curtis Hughes Jr. of Seymour, Tammy Lou Hughes of Seymour, Carl Hughes of Seymour, Daniel Lee (Lisa) Hughes of Scottsburg, James R. (Zelma) Hughes of Farmersburg, Patricia Claxton of Seymour, and stepson Jeffery (Elizabeth) Patterson of Avinger, TX; two sisters, Opal Vickers of Mobile, AL and Edith Neace of Corinth, KY; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Hughes, July 31, 2006; sister, Nola Ledford; and brothers Jack and Bud Stacy, Bud (Mary) Stacy.

Zola was a member of the Church of Lord Jesus Christ in Crothersville, Indiana. She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be from 11-1PM, Monday, May 8, at Voss &Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut, Seymour. Pastor James Carmichael will officiate a funeral service to follow at 1PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Whites and Roberts Cemetery in Scott County.
