The Indiana High School Athletic Association released the sectional pairings for baseball and softball on Sunday night.

For softball, sectional action runs May 22 to 27 with the 64 survivors moving into a one-game regional round May 30 and the four-team semistates June 3.

For baseball, sectional games begin May 24 and continue through Memorial Day (May 29) with regionals June 3.

Starting with the softball draw, in Class 4A, Seymour drew Bedford North Lawrence in the first round. The Owls and Stars will play in the second game with the first game being between Jennings County and New Albany.

The winner of the Bulldogs and Panthers will play Jeffersonville, and the winner of the Owls and Stars will play Floyd Central in the semifinals. All games are held at BNL.

Seymour has yet to meet BNL this year but will next week on Tuesday at home.

In Class 2A, Brownstown Central is hosting its own sectional. The Braves drew Brown County in the first round in game three. The Braves do not play the Eagles in the regular season.

Southwestern (Hanover) vs. Milan is game one, and Switzerland County vs. Hauser is game two. South Ripley will play the winner of game one, and the other semifinal will be between the winners of games two and three.

Lastly, in Class A, Rising Sun is hosting the sectional. The Shiners will play New Washington in the first game, and the winner will take on Crothersville. The Tigers will not meet the Shiners in the regular season but will play New Washington on May 11.

The other semifinal is between Trinity Lutheran and Henryville. The Cougars played the Hornets on April 18 and won the game 6-1.

For baseball, New Albany is hosting the 4A sectional, where Seymour drew Jeffersonville in game four. The first game is between Floyd Central and Bedford, and the second game is between New Albany and Jennings County.

The winner of games one and two will meet in the semifinal, and the winner between the Owls and Red Devils will advance to the championship. Seymour and Jeff met earlier this season on April 13, and the Red Devils were victorious 13-1.

There’s a chance Seymour could meet Jeff next week in Hoosier Hills Conference play and exact some revenge before the postseason matchup.

For Class 2A, Brownstown Central is in the Austin Sectional and will play the first game against Brown County. The second game is between Milan and South Ripley, the third between Switzerland County and Austin and the fourth between Hauser and Southwestern (Hanover).

The winner of games one and two will play in one semifinal, and the winner of games three and four will meet in the other semifinal.

The Braves and Eagles do not meet in the regular season.

In the Class A sectional at Shawe Memorial, Crothersville is in the first game against Henryville, and the winner of that game will play the winner of game two between Shawe and Rising Sun. The Tigers played the Hornets on May 1 and lost 22-0.

The other semifinal is between New Washington and Trinity Lutheran, where the winner will head to the championship. Trinity will get a tune-up against New Washington on May 13 at home.
