Information about current children’s program at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St., recently was released.

That programming includes:

Circle of Friends Storytime

3:30 to 4 p.m. June 29, July 6, 13, 20 and 27 and Aug. 3

This program, for children ages 2 to 6, begins at 3:30 p.m. A library staff member will come to the children’s department to let children know it is time for the program. Each week, children will be introduced to a different theme through a combination of stories, songs, finger plays and crafts.

Children who attend this program should be able to color and use glue sticks independently. A parent or guardian must attend storytime with children under 3 to assist with finger plays and craft projects. In accordance with Library Policy 802, parents and guardians must remain in the building with all children under 5.

All of the children will be escorted back to the children’s department at the end of the program.

TRAC: Teen Readers Advisory Club

3:30 to 4:30 p.m. June 5, July 3, Aug. 7, Sept. 11, Oct. 2, Nov. 5 and Dec 4

The Teen Readers Advisory Club advises the library on teen interests and trends. Members recommend titles for the young adult collection and suggest ideas for teen programs. Occasionally, members help youth services facilitate programs for other age groups.

This program is for tweens and teens entering sixth to 12th grades. Participants must have read one book from the young adult collection before each meeting, and each will give a brief book talk about their selection. The goal of the book talk is to tell enough about the title to encourage fellow teens to read the title without giving away the ending.

Following the talks, teens will have time to socialize, make recommendations for future programs and participate in various group activities. Snacks will be provided during all meetings. Registration is required.

If Brownstown Central Community School Corp. schools close due to weather, youth services programming will be canceled.
