SHS increasing sporting event admission price to $6

The admission price to attend regular-season sporting events at Seymour High School in the 2023-24 school year is slightly increasing.

During a recent Seymour Community School Corp. board of education meeting, SHS Athletic Director Kirk Manns recommended the price go from $5 to $6.

He said it has been more than 20 years since the price increased, and many schools in central and southern Indiana charge $6 or $7.

The reason for the increase is to keep up with inflation related to the cost of materials and uniforms, he said.

“After COVID, things have gone up,” Manns said. “All sports season passes remain at a discounted price. I encourage folks to get those.”

The increase was unanimously approved 7-0 by the board.
