Peggy Parker, 70, of Seymour, IN passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the Willow Crossing
Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, IN. She was born on February 27, 1953, in Monticello, FL.,
the daughter of Otis and Juanita (Mangum) Saunders. On October 10, 1981, Peggy married Jeff Parker
in Pensacola, FL. and he survives.
In addition to her husband Jeff, Peggy is survived by two children, Jeremy Parker of Seymour, IN
and Rebecca (Matthew) Schieler of Avon, IN; two grandchildren, Ella and one grandson on the way.
Peggy is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Wesley (Mary) Saunders, Gail (John) Frazier, Patsy
Tinnell, and Bill (Lynn) Saunders. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy was a graduate of Auburn University where she met her husband Jeff and where she
earned a bachelor’s degree in landscaping architecture and a minor in botany. After graduating from
Auburn, Peggy went on to work as a landscape architect for many years until retirement. After
retirement she was a homemaker where she loved and cared for her family. She was a member of the
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.), and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour where
she was an active member. When she wasn’t caring for her family at home her and Jeff enjoyed many
trips down to Florida but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist
Church in Seymour. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at
the Voss and Son’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
Alzheimer’s Association or to the Dementia Society of America.
