Chester Leon Fletcher, 86, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 11:49 on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, IN. Chester was born on April 22, 1936, in Wynett, IL, to Earl and Isa (Dailey) Fletcher. On November 22, 1958, he married Juanita (Morris) Fletcher in Uniontown, IN. This year they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Chester was a 1954 Crothersville High School graduate. He was an Army veteran, and a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Vallonia, IN, where he also served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, IU Hoosiers basketball, and loved mowing his grass. He was known for having the best yard in town. Chester retired from Cummins Engine Co. Inc. in 1995 after working there 30 years. Prior to working at Cummins, he worked at the U.S. Shoe Factory for 8 years in Crothersville, IN. Chester is survived by his loving wife, Juanita (Morris) Fletcher of Crothersville, IN, 3 children, Terry Cleek of Salem, IN, Rita Cook of Crothersville, IN, and Tim (Sandy) Fletcher of Crothersville, IN, 3 grandchildren, Rachel Cook of Austin, IN, Tim Fletcher of Seymour, IN, and Rebekah Cook of Crothersville, IN, 2 great-grandchildren, Austin Cook and Anthony Stacy, 2 sisters, Nina (Ivan) Harris of Crothersville, IN and Peggy Keiffer of Scottsburg, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Isa (Dailey) Fletcher, 2 brothers, Joe Fletcher and Arnold Fletcher, great-grandson, Curtis Collman III, and son-in-law, Robert Cleek. Pastor Jason Cooper will conduct a celebration of life at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory ~ Crothersville with burial to immediately follow at Uniontown Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, and from 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday.
