The week concludes with honoring the public safety telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

“We recognize public safety telecommunicators’ hard work, service and commitment every second week of April since Presidential Proclamation 6667 was signed in 1994,” Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer said. “We thank and honor the personnel who serve our communities and citizens nationwide 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency supports all emergency communications centers, public safety answering points, public safety communications centers, emergency operations centers and other command centers that are important in connecting communities and members of the public to lifesaving emergency services.

CISA works with all 911 centers, from the federal level to the volunteer response organizations.
