Mr. Reedy was born at home on April 29, 1935, in rural Brownstown in the White River bottoms. He was the son of Ralph R. and E. Gertrude (Scott) Reedy, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Ratcliff Grove School and graduated from Brownstown High School in 1953.

Upon graduation, he became a partner with his dad, operating the family grain and cattle farm, raising Hereford cattle for many years. Later, Roy also raised popcorn for Gettlefinger, a supplier for Orville Redenbacher.

In April 1953, Roy joined the Indiana National Guard, attained the rank of Sergeant, and he was honorably discharged in December 1961. On November 18, 1956, he married Marilyn June Robbins, and she survives in rural Brownstown. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. They were blessed with four daughters: Jane (Bob) Martin of Freetown, Sarah (Kamron) Wright of Fort Wayne, Susan (Bruce) Wynn of Seymour, and Joyce (Mark) McKinney of Brownstown. The four daughters and their husbands all helped in various ways on the farm.

Mr. Reedy was also preceded in death by one sister, Inez Marie Reedy Baughman.

Mr. Reedy was a former member of Ratcliff Grove Christian Church, where he was baptized as a teenager, and he previously served as a Board Member, Deacon, and Church Treasurer. Roy was a current member of Brownstown Christian Church, where he was active with the Golden Wheels group and card club.

Roy loved his family dearly, and he loved spending time with them. He especially loved attending the events of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
