Students who have completed grades 6 to 12 will have an opportunity again this year to attend the Emerging Voices summer show choir camp at Brownstown Central High School.

Award-winning show choir director Verda Slinkard and award-winning professional choreographer Marty DeMott will lead the camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 12 to 16 at the school, 500 N. Elm St., Brownstown. A final concert will be presented at 7 p.m. June 16 in the school’s auditorium.

The cost of the camp is $150. That must be paid and the registration form must be turned in by May 12 to the school’s choral director, Stephanie Brock, or mailed to BC Choir Boosters, P.O. Box 156, Freetown, IN 47235. A check or money order should be made payable to BC Choir Boosters.

Camp fees include the cost of the workshop, a T-shirt, music, accompanist fees and dinner prior to the performance.

Students must provide their own transportation to and from the camp. Enter the auditorium lobby door (Entry 14).

The daily schedule will consist of a morning session with vocal rehearsals and/or choreography rehearsals, a lunch break, an afternoon session with vocal rehearsals and/or choreography rehearsals and breaks between vocal and choreography.

Students should wear shorts and/or leggings, T-shirts (no tank tops) and tennis shoes, and they will provide their own lunch daily. Microwaves will be available for use. Students should bring their own water bottle, too.

Any students who would like to audition for a solo during the final performance should have a song ready to use.

For the last day of the camp, boys should wear white shirts and girls should wear black shirts for blocking purposes, and students should bring everything they will need for the final performance. Dinner will be provided to participants between 4 and 6 p.m., and preparations for the final performance will be from 6 to 7 p.m.

For the performance, boys and girls should wear blue jeans (holes), camp T-shirt and tennis shoes. Family members are invited to attend for free. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
