Lloyd “Ray” Raymond Weidenburner, 63, of Seymour passed away Tuesday evening March 21, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was born on December 4, 1959, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Gene an Sharon (Alcorn) O’Daffer.

Ray is survived by one son, Timothy (Christina) Weidenburner of Germany; soulmate, Sherri Amers of Vallonia, IN; three brothers, Troy (Jackie) Weidenburner of Oakwood, IL, Matt (Mandy) Weidenburner of Chesterfield, VA, and Eric (Irene) O’Daffer of Seymour, IN; one sister Sherrie (Tony) Barkes of Ocala, FL; one aunt, Melody Dixson; and second cousins, Jerry and Pam Alcorn.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.

Ray was a graduate of Washington Community High School in Washington, IL. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 where he served until being honorably discharged in 1989. After being discharged from the Army Ray went on to work at Valeo until he retired due to his health. He was a member of The Point First Church of the Nazarene, and the American Legion Post 89. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, drawing, working with his hands and was a die-hard Elvis fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling overseas to Germany to see his son Timothy.

A funeral service for Ray will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will then be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridgefarm, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lloyd’s name to the St. Josephs Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
