Invasive partnership plans weed wrangle at refuge

A weed wrangle will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 1 starting at the visitor center at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 E. U.S. 50, Seymour.

The Jackson County Invasive Partnership is sponsoring the event to educate people about the problems invasive plants cause and to help reduce invasive plant problems on the refuge.

Work will include garlic mustard pulling (which refuge staff says is easy) and some cutting of bush honeysuckle (which is a little harder).

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and snacks will be provided when the work is done.
