The Seymour Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at city hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

The agenda includes Chrisley Lewis and Rachel McIntosh requesting a variance at 1407 Martin Ct. to vary from the 20-foot rear setback and 6.5-foot side setback to be at a zero setback to place a shed. They live on a corner and are restricted to where they can place it. The shed already has been placed, but they need BZA approval for it to remain there.

Jigar Patel is requesting a land use variance at 207 E. 13th St. to have two residential structures on one lot. There is an existing building that will be turned into an apartment. It was given an unfavorable recommendation from the plan commission during a March 9 meeting.

Kevin Burke is requesting a land use variance at 714 W. Fifth St. to turn his house into an Airbnb/rental. It is the birthplace of John Mellencamp, and Burke feels it would be an interesting place for people to rent. It was given a favorable recommendation from the plan commission on March 9.

Clayton Henderson is requesting a land use variance at 207 N. Fourth Street Road to run a small detailing business out of his garage. The plan commission also gave his request a favorable recommendation.

Gordon and Kathy Simler are requesting a land use variance at 436 Persimmon Drive. They have quite a few animals and have been informed they need a kennel license to keep them. They were given a favorable recommendation from the plan commission with the stipulation that they are not to get any more animals.

Ben Stewart is requesting a variance at 221 Manor Ct. to vary from the required 20-foot rear setback to be at a 1-foot setback to build a pool house off of the back of the house.

Finally, Ken Anders is requesting a variance at 248 Whites Station Road to vary from the required 20-foot rear setback to be at 10 feet and the required side setback of 9 feet to be at 2 feet to build a new garage.

Also during the meeting, the BZA will welcome new member Skylar Earley.

The meeting is open to the public and press. Enter through the door along Third Street.
