Beacon Credit Union plans to kick off its 13th annual Project Spotlight, a campaign that takes place in all 13 of the communities that Beacon has a full-service member center.

The program was created in hopes that individuals and organizations will be inspired to reach out and serve those living and working around them, according to a news release from the Wabash-based firm.

Everyone, including non-Beacon members, is invited to nominate charitable organizations, community projects and local not-for-profits they believe deserve financial support.

Nominations started Tuesday and run until May 31 and may be submitted online at beaconcu.org or a member center. Seymour’s member center is at 1459 W. Tipton St.

Beginning July 1, the public can start voting for their favorite cause. Voters are allowed to vote once per day per community online or in a member center.

The project in each community that receives the most votes will win $1,000 of funding from Beacon Credit Union. The second-place winners will receive $500 in funding, and a third-place winner will be randomly drawn to receive $250 in funding.

The total amount of money donated to charitable organizations in Indiana by Beacon Credit Union through Project Spotlight in 2023 will be $22,750.

After voting online, the public may share to social media to let others know they have voted and encourage others to vote for their favorite cause.

Last year, Beacon Credit Union received more than 25,000 votes. Voting will end July 31.
