SEYMOUR

Paul A. Nay, 60, of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center. He was born in Seymour, Indiana on July 4, 1962, the son of the late Donald Earl Nay and Nancy Swick Nay who survives in Crothersville. On October 10, 1998, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, he married the love of his life and his best friend, Rachel Baxter.

Paul is survived by his wife, Rachel; his mother, Nancy Nay; two children, Jackson Paul (J.P.) Nay, and Madelyn Leigh (Maddie) Nay; one brother, Steve (Julie) Nay; one sister, Sue (Rob) Hooker; his father-in-law, David Baxter; sister-in-law, Robin Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Nay; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Baxter.

Paul was the owner and broker of PNA Realty of Seymour. He has been in the real estate and auction business for over 35 years. He was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a proud member of N.R.A. He was also a member of multiple organizations including : Lifetime National Republican Party, Lutheran Community Home Board, Lions Club International of Seymour, Eagles Club of Seymour, and Elks Club of Seymour.

One would say Paul was a unique and larger than life individual, and he was one of a kind. He was a friend to all who he met. He was one that just had a personality that drew people in, with his Paul-isms, voice, and some would say his clothing. It did not matter if you saw him in Seymour at one of his auctions, while buying real estate, a vacation in Florida or any other state, he would always make you feel like you were a close friend. He enjoyed his auctioneering and traveling with his family. If Paul was here today, he would tell us to LIVE IT UP!

Family and friends may visit at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 2pm until the time of memorial remembrance service at 7pm.

Family requests memorial contributions to be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Jackson County Humane Society.
