Jimmy Lee “Pops” Reynolds, age 78, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Ellettsville, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Reynolds retired from Harley Bag Company, Inc. after more than 40 years of employment.

He loved spending time with his family, hanging out with his best friend, Jolie, and watching birds. Jimmy Lee “Pops’ enjoyed old vehicles, and he especially loved his 1936 Dodge pickup. He also enjoyed tinkering with old watches and clocks and watching I.U. basketball.

Born on February 26, 1944, in Brownstown, he was the son of Curtis and Maime Wells Reynolds, both of whom preceded him in death. On December 14, 1963, in Indianapolis, he married Judy Rust, and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2011.

Survivors include one son, Josh Reynolds of Seymour; one daughter, Jodie (Rafe) Thummel of Ellettsville; one brother, George (Roxie) Reynolds of Brownstown; one sister, Betty (Jim) McCrary of Seymour; and two grandchildren: Jolie Reynolds of Brownstown and Jaylee Reynolds of Seymour.

Mr. Reynolds was also preceded in death by two brothers: Harry Reynolds and Buck Reynolds; and two sisters: Dorthy McCory and Hattie Nicholson.

Funeral services for Jimmy Lee “Pops” Reynolds will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Kay Miller-Pratt officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Foundation – Melanoma Research.
