The Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2023 Regional All-Star teams on Wednesday, selecting 12 players for the West team and 12 for the East team.
Trinity Lutheran senior Bailey Tabeling and Brownstown Central senior Maddy Hackman were both selected to be on the East team.
Both players helped lead their respective teams to sectional championships last week and will be playing for a regional championship this Saturday.
Tabeling, a four-time sectional champ, is averaging 22.6 points per game this season, along with 8.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.4 blocks per game.
The Cougars are 21-6 this season and will be playing Springs Valley for the regional title this Saturday at West Washington High School at 4 p.m.
Hackman, also a four-time sectional champ, is averaging 13 points per game this season, finishing with double-digit scoring efforts last week as the Braves beat Providence and Austin to win a sectional title.
Brownstown is 19-7 this season and will battle Forest Park for the regional title on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Crawford County High School.
Joining Tabeling and Hackman on the East All-Star team are Jackie Crews (Paoli), Kylee Edwards (Shelbyville), Abby Fleetwood (Indian Creek), Lizzie Graham (Triton Central), Bailey Orme (Corydon Central), Saige Stahl (Columbus East), Hannah Stutsman (Scottsburg), Josie Trabel (East Central), Ava Weber (Corydon Central) and Linzie Wernert (Lanesville).
The West All-Star team consists of Carley Begle (Forest Park), Lydia Betz (Forest Park), Gloria Brewer (Greencastle), Trinity Britton (South Spencer), Amiyah Buchanan (Evansville North), Reegan Hammelman (North Knox), Rhylan Kalb (Northeast Dubois), Gracie Kramer (Vincennes Lincoln), Emily Mattingly (Evansville Memorial), Jalyn Shelby (Evansville North), Amber Tretter (Forest Park) and Alexis Tucker (Gibson Southern).
All players in the Regional All-Star game were voted upon by the HBCA member coaches to be recognized as among the best senior players in southern Indiana.
All of these players are officially invited to play at the annual All-Star Classic on April 16 at North Daviess High School.
