Loyal Devoir Society meets at Seymour church

The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church met Jan. 24 with Paula Stafford presiding.

Barb Bentley and her committee were hostesses. Dues were paid by members.

Helen Horton gave devotions, ending with prayer.

Betty Guinn reported the balance in the treasury and read several thank-you notes. She read a letter from Melanie O’Neal about giving to The Arc of Jackson County. O’Neal is executive director of the organization. Lucy Dembek will contact O’Neal to arrange a presentation to the group. A motion was made and passed.

Stafford plans to give a sales report on the nut man later.

Stafford also asked someone to volunteer for sales representative.

Bentley read several New Year’s resolutions to consider.

Loretta Riehl made a motion to give Lois Geuder a gift card as a thank-you for printing the program booklets for many years. The motion passed.

The next meeting will be the anniversary dinner of 112 years at 6 p.m. Feb. 28.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
