Book discussions planned for February

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in February.

Books are available to check out at the library checkout desks or may be available digitally through OverDrive/Libby or hoopla.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at Arby’s, 1930 E. Tipton St., Seymour. Information Services Manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program online or when getting the book at the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet in the library meeting room and share thoughts on “Something in the Water” by Catherine Steadman at 6 p.m. Feb. 15. Circulation Assistant Teresa Black will lead the discussion. The group is open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement.

Fantastic Fiction will meet in the Seymour Library meeting room and discuss “Seven Days in June” by Tia Williams at 11 a.m. Feb. 17. Led by circulation department staff, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The Medora Library discussion group will meet at 5 p.m. Feb. 28 to talk about “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick. Circulation Manager Christina Hime leads this group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
