SALEM, INDIANA

Charles Kevin Price, age 50, Salem Indiana, died on November 24, 2022 in Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands. Born on August 21, 1972 in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Raymond and Barbara Kay Price. On October 2, 1999, in Seymour Indiana, he married his best friend and love of his life, Zola Rebekah Price, who survives.

Kevin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 4, 1989. His love of Bible truths was evident throughout his life. He was a willing volunteer, participating in construction work to build houses of worship—Kingdom Halls—every chance he got. From age 16 he helped to build or remodel dozens of Kingdom Halls throughout Indiana and Illinois. He traveled to New York State to participate in volunteer construction work, and traveled to Puerto Rico in 2018 to assist with disaster relief after Hurricane Maria. He always looked for opportunities to help people, and participated in the door-to-door ministry almost every weekend, knowing that Bible knowledge would be the best help in people’s lives.

He was a 1990 graduate of Eastern High School in Pekin and Prosser Vocational School in New Albany. He was employed at Cylicron, LLC in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Kevin was always up for any adventure. He loved to take long motorcycle rides—and vacations with him meant hiking, camping, fishing or rock climbing. He also enjoyed spending time in the ocean snorkeling, scuba diving and attempting to surf. But he was just as happy to hang out at home, order a pizza, and watch a movie with his wife. He was known as the guy who could fix anything, and he had every tool for any job. And everyone knew that he was a “computer whiz” who was there to help if he even got a hint of your electronic problems.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rebekah; a sister Shawn (Wayne) Bonney of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Nephew Jason (Melissa) Mayfield in Clarksville, Indiana; nieces Tiffany Mayfield and Abby Bonney, of Bowling Green, Kentucky. A sister Carla (Troy) Jackson, of Pekin, Indiana; and a nephew Quinton Jackson, or “Munchkin” from New Albany, Indiana. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Willis and Pauline Kilgas, and brother-in-law Adam (Rachel) Kilgas of Seymour, Indiana; as well as more aunts, uncles and cousins in Indiana and Kentucky; not to mention his very close and loving spiritual family in Salem and Seymour, all of Central and Southern Indiana, and surrounding areas.

He had always stated that at such a time as this, he would want a “party,” so as best as they can, his friends and family will hold a celebration of Kevin’s life on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of Eastern High School, 1100 N Eastern School Rd, Pekin, Indiana. Memorials can be made to the worldwide preaching work online at jw.org
