SEYMOUR

Morey Allen Russell, 62, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Seymour. He was a resident of Seymour, and former resident of Corydon, Bedford, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, and Kansas City.

He was born August 9, 1960, in Seymour to Charles W. “Cotton” Russell and Patricia Aiken Slusher. Survivors include one daughter, Cassie Reshea Russell of Louisville; mother, Patricia Aiken Slusher of Charlestown, IN; sister, Peggy (Tony) Culp of Seymour; two brothers, Joey Russell of Columbus and Barry Russell of Seymour; and one grandson, Keagan Blaine Russell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Russell; his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Nona Russell; and his maternal grandparents, Lloyd Aiken and Ruth Kiel.

Morey was a 1978 graduate of Seymour High School. He attended ITT Technical Institute, where he graduated with honors.

His employment included Galyan’s, Country Boy Waterbeds, Carroll’s Homes Supercenter, and most recently as a Manager for Tractor Supply Company in Seymour and Bedford.

Morey was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing, hunting, and turkey hunting. He enjoyed white water rafting, and guns.

He was a Kentucky Colonel, and a fan of Indiana University sports.

Visitation will be from 12-2PM, Tuesday, at Voss &Sons Funeral Home, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Rev. Chris Gustafson will officiate a funeral service to follow at 2PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
