Bird watchers undeterred by snow on the ground at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge participate in the annual nationwide Christmas Bird Count in past years.

The annual Christmas Bird Count at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will be Sunday starting at 7:30 a.m. at the visitor center.

Christmas Bird Counts are sponsored by the National Audubon Society and take place all over the country.

The annual bird inventory of the refuge has been going on for more than 50 years. Participating in the count is a great way for inexperienced birders to pick up tips from more experienced people. Everyone who enjoys birds is welcome.
