Raymond P. Back, age 79, a native of Whitehall, Wisconsin and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born on March 25, 1943 to the late Lester Back and the late Inez (Bekklund) Back. On February 6, 1982 he married the love of his life, Mariann (Quinn) Back of which they have shared a journey of over 40 years. He was a Lutheran by faith and member of Seymour American Legion Post #89.

Raymond loved the Green Bay Packers, truck driving and John Deere Tractors. He was an avid bowler and loved being adventurous on his motorized scooter. He enjoyed CB radio and his handle was “PBR” which stood for his favorite beer, Pabst Blue Ribbon, He was a family oriented man that had a wonderful, sarcastic sense of humor. Raymond will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way.

He is survived by his wife, Mariann Back of Seymour, Indiana, two daughters, Candy Gabbard and her husband Jerry of North Vernon, Indiana and Mary Jean Plumer and her husband Tony of Columbus, Indiana. Three sons, Terry Blumer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mike Back and his wife Jennifer of Bellevue, Iowa and Danny Bobbitt and his wife Marcelle of Seymour, Indiana. Eight grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Tiffany, Kimberly, Jenna and her husband Zac, Cailin. Mallory, Torrie, Taylor and Terrin. One brother, Vernon Back and his wife Eileen on Blair, Wisconsin. Four nieces and nephews, Jeff and his wife Rena, Jolene and her husband Chris, Janelle and her husband Jay and Jeanene and her husband Dennis, numerous great grand children, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June Back.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Christensen Family Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ronnie Plumer and Bro. Brien Stout officiating.

He will be laid to rest at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana with full military honors.
