Library announces January programming

The Jackson County Public Library is offering programs for adults in January.

Adult crafters are invited to make winter decorative snowmen at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Crothersville Library or at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Medora Library. Registration is required by Jan. 9 and 17, respectively, with a limit of 10 at each session.

Matt Baker, a financial advisor with Edward Jones of Seymour, will discuss taking steps necessary for retirement during When Can I Retire? at 5 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Seymour Library. Registration is required by Jan. 12.

Adults are invited to True Crime Club to discuss cold case theories at 5 p.m. Jan. 23 in the Seymour Library meeting room.

Learn about healthy eating from Lesley Kendall, nutrition services manager and registered dietitian at Schneck Medical Center, at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 or 5:30 p.m. Jan. 26. Registration is required by Jan. 20.

Programs offered for teens ages 12 to 19 will meet in the Seymour Teen Scene unless otherwise noted.

Pick up a Hot Tips! take-and-make kit at the Crothersville Library between Jan. 4 and 25 or at the Medora Library between Jan. 5 and 26 and learn to make gloves touchscreen ready.

Teens are invited to New Year, Old Games to try out older games systems at 2 p.m. Jan. 5.

Learn to make cloth gloves touchscreen ready at Hot Tips! at 5 p.m. Jan. 12. Registration is required by Jan. 10.

The Teen Advisory Group will meet at 5 p.m. Jan. 16. Potential attendees should get an application to return before future meetings.

Gamers ages 13 to 18 in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora are invited to join the JCPL Teen Discord server for Battle Royale: Apex Legends at 4 p.m. Jan. 19.

Teens in grades 6 to 12 can play tiny table hockey and participate in a Pocky taste test at Tiny Hockey Pocky at 5 p.m. Jan. 30. Registration is required by Jan. 27.
