The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees elected 2023 officers during a meeting Monday at the Seymour Library.

Officers starting in January are President Dan Davis, Vice President Jaime McRoy, Secretary Matt Lorenzo, Assistant Secretary Kathy Ellis and Treasurer Mary Reed.

The board approved payment of claims on hand through the end of the year, changes to the internal controls policy and a 2023 salary resolution. Trustees also approved a list of surplus equipment and supplies and out-of-state travel for Director Julia Aker and Davis to attend the American Library Association Conference from June 22 to 27 in Chicago, Illinois.

Davis took his oath of office after being reappointed to the board by the county council for his second full four-year term, ending in 2026. Sally Crouch was recognized for serving 18 years on the board.

Board member Don Myers Jr. resigned from the board effective Jan. 1, 2023.

The board’s next meeting, which includes the annual meeting of the board of finance, is at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
