Medora gets second win

The Medora girls basketball team put on a dominating display on Thursday night at home against Seven Oaks Classical.

The Hornets were able to win the game 55-35.

Jenna Bowers had a career night for the Hornets, scoring just as much as the opponent with 35 points on the night.

Aaralyn Hackney added 17 points, Heavenlee Brown scored two and Brelee Underwood had one.

With the win, Medora now improves to 2-5 this season and will next play on Monday at Christian Academy.

Seymour tops Floyd Central

The Seymour girls basketball team went on the road to Floyd Central on Thursday night to pick up a big Hoosier Hills Conference game.

The Owls were able to top the Highlanders 41-32.

Kendall Sterling led Seymour with 21 points, Journee Brown scored 10, Elizabeth Kirby had eight and Greer Henry had two.

The Owls are now 9-3 this season and will next play at Greensburg on Tuesday night and then home to Rushville on Thursday night. Seymour head coach Jason Longmeier said he hopes to have a big crowd at Thursday night’s contest at Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium.

“We got a big week next week going into Christmas break,” Longmeier said. “Let’s see if we can’t keep things going and get to 11-3 before the break.”

Boys basketball

Hornets get second straight win

The Medora boys basketball team rolled to victory against Seven Oaks Classical on Thursday night 75-19.

Shepard Earl led the Hornets with 15 points on the night and Braxton McCory was right behind him with 14 points.

Eli Sturgill scored nine, Hudson Johnson eight, Kade Wright eight, Dawson Cornett six, Eli Lane six, Jaxon Nugen five, Kacie Inscoe two and Duane Hogan two.

It was a total team effort for the Hornets, who have now won two games in a row. At 2-1 this season, Medora will be home against Shoals tonight at 7:30 p.m.
