Locker pickup now available at Crothersville, Medora libraries

The Jackson County Public Library recently installed lockers for after-hours materials pickup in Crothersville and Medora.

These were purchased with donations in memory of Wanda Butler and an annual grant from the library fund with the Community Foundation of Jackson County.

Visitors to the branches that are only open two or three days a week may now place holds and have their materials secured in a locker outside the library for pickup before the library opens or after it closes.

To use the service, library cardholders may choose the lockers as a pickup location when placing items on hold using the Evergreen Indiana website or app. Library staff will contact the cardholder via email or telephone before placing the already checked-out items in a locker. Locker users will receive instructions on opening the lock and relocking it after materials are retrieved.

Some items, such as equipment including hotspots, are not eligible for pickup from after-hours lockers.

Anyone with questions about the new service may contact Circulation Manager Christina Hime at [email protected] or 812-405-1832.
