Registration is still open for the annual Turkey Trot 5K walk and 8K run, which is set for 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Girls Inc. of Jackson County, 956 N. O’Brien St., Seymour.

The cost for the Thanksgiving Day race is $40 for adults or $25 for kids 10 and under. Race shirts cannot be ordered at this time, as the deadline for the order has passed.

On the day of the race, registration will be from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m.

Anyone who isn’t able or doesn’t want to participate but still wants to make a donation to Girls Inc. may do so at the same website.

Proceeds will benefit Girls Inc., which encourages girls to pursue their dreams with the support of a local center and a national organization dedicated to inspire girls to become strong, smart and bold. Through researched-based curricula, girls are equipped to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives and become leaders of tomorrow.
