SALEM
Wilma Louise Wheeler, 90, of Salem and formerly of Vallonia, passed away at 1:55 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for several months. She was a member of Full Gospel Outreach Center in Salem. Wilma was co-owner/secretary of Wheeler Sawmill. She and her husband, Paul, founded the Millport Mission Church and she played the piano there for many years.
Wilma was born on October 20, 1931, to the late Russell &Ruby Zaring Royse. She married Paul L. Wheeler on December 24, 1961, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2007.
Survivors include her sons: Ronnie (Shirley) Holstine of Salem, Marshall Holstine of Houston, Darrell (Debbie) Holstine of Vallonia, &Eric Wheeler of Vallonia; a daughter, Cheryl Tolliver of Jasper, TN; her best friend and caregiver, Peggy Baker of Salem; step-children: Jerry Wheeler, Butch Wheeler, Marilyn Sherwood, &Brenda Thompson; numerous grandchildren, great &great-great grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Joan Hehman; and a step-son, Mike Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Mike Tolliver officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Full Gospel Outreach Center.
