Halloween events planned around county

Halloween is coming up Oct. 31.

In the spirit of the holiday, several local churches and businesses in Jackson County are planning free events open to the public. Here’s information provided to The Tribune:

Oct. 22

4:30 to 7 p.m.: Fall harvest party with candy, food, games, hayrides, a trunk or treat and more outside Reddington Christian Church, 10516 N. U.S. 31, Reddington; children must be accompanied by a parent

Oct. 29

2 to 4 p.m.: Residents will be handing out candy at Seymour Crossing, 707 S. Jackson Park Drive, Seymour

4 to 6 p.m.: Fall festival with food, hayrides, games, a pumpkin cake walk, candy and prizes at Central Christian Church, 1434 W. Second St., Seymour; register your family online at subsplash.com/centralchristianchur/lb/ev/+d2qnyny; must be registered to win prizes

6 to 7:30 p.m.: Trunk or treat in the north parking lot at First United Methodist Church, Ewing and Fourth streets, Seymour; there also will be prize drawings

Oct. 30

4 to 6 p.m.: Trunk or treat at Brownstown Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Elm St., Brownstown

5 to 7 p.m.: Trunk or treat with pulled pork, hot dogs, chips, drinks, hayrides and candy at First Baptist Church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour

Oct. 31

Noon to 6 p.m.: Alice in Wonderland’s Very Merry Unbirthday-themed event with cupcakes, candy, refreshments and treats for kids at Woodforest National Bank inside Walmart Supercenter, 1600 E. Tipton St., Seymour

6 to 8 p.m.: Trunk or treat with chili, hot dogs and drinks at First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown, 610 S. Main St., Brownstown

6 to 8 p.m.: Chili, candy, coffee, popcorn and hot chocolate at New Life Missionary Baptist Church 709 W. Bridge St., Brownstown

6 to 8 p.m.: Trunk or treat at Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic, 607 Euclid Ave., Seymour

6 to 8 p.m.: Trunk or treat in the parking lot behind Trinity United Methodist Church off of Carter Street in Seymour
