Jackson County United Way is hosting an informational lunch meeting about its Free Income Tax Assistance program from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the third-floor conference room at the Community Agency Building, 113 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

This is a free lunch for anyone interested in volunteering who has never volunteered for this program before. In this volunteer position, there are potential continuing education credits available for enrolled agents, certified financial planners and certified public accountants.

Additionally, training is provided for all volunteers to fit their unique role. Volunteer positions for this program range from check-in to volunteer tax preparers.
