Marilyn Jo (Weyl) Fox, 89, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at her residence.

Born December 12, 1932, in Losantville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Karl George and Mary Louise (Anderson) Weyl.

Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of Economy High School in Economy and went to work for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville as a DST, she worked 32 years before retiring in 1998. She was baptized in 1948 at the First Methodist Church in Economy. Marilyn enjoyed reading college basketball, and tennis, especially her favorite tennis star, Roger Federer.

Survivors include her son, Ricky E. (Tena) Fox of Frankfort; her daughters, JoEllen (Todd) Brooks of Hayden and Mary Mills of North Vernon; sisters, Linda (Jim) Noggle and Wilma Moore, both of Richmond, and Becky (Joe) Hawkins of Greens Fork; grandchildren, Cassandra (Dave) Luv Hudson and Dee Dee Berge, both of Greenfield, Tommy (Leah) Fox of Cedar Rapids, Michigan, Jason Brewer, Kelly Brooks, Bryant Mills (Alex Holcomb), and Cory Brooks, all of North Vernon, and Kristine (Michael) Johnson of Madison; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Paula “Toots” Nighbert; granddaughter, Angela Marie Nighbert; and sisters, Patty Cloud, Mary Jane Weyl, and Martha Jean Kitts.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Butlerville Cemetery in Butlerville.

Memorials may be made in honor of Marilyn through the funeral home to donor’s choice of organization.
