LAKE CITY, FL

Robert A Water, 86 of Lake City Fl. passed away August 23, 2022, at the Haven House Hospice Center in Lake City Fl. He was the son of Elmer and Mamie Waters of August Ky. Robert was born in Augusta Ky March 27, 1936. He had 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Preceding his death was Charles Waters, James Waters, sisters Juanita Hutchen, Mary Jane Fulton, Marjorie Rumford, Geraldine High. Son Jeffery A Waters. He is survived by two Brothers, Donald Water of Maysville, KY and Fred Waters of Wichita, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia O Mitchell Waters, she passed away 11-23-2019.

Robert proudly served in the Army 1956 and later transferred to the United States Air Force. Retired from Florida State Raiford Prison as Sargent.

Robert is survived by Judy Waters Mellencamp is the only serving daughter. Grandchildren and great grandchildren are Stephanie Mellencamp-Cunningham (Brett) Thomas Ryan Mellencamp (Rachael) Jason Mellencamp (RaeAnn) Tony Mellencamp. Grandchildren and great grandchildren Thomas Mellencamp, Allie Mellencamp, Kristen Mellencamp-Caudill Asa Mellencamp, Hannah Deaton, Chole Mellencamp, Jesse Mellencamp and Reed Mellencamp Graceland and Mathew Mellencamp.

Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family in Kentucky and Indiana.

Graveside services will be conducted by Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Monday October 3, 2022, at 1:00 PM Riverview Cemetery with full military services being conducted.
