Earl Ray Climer, 82, of Columbus, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Willow Crossing Health &Rehab. He was a member of the Jonesville Christian Church and was retired from Cummins, Inc. He enjoyed playing music on his guitar and sharing that gift at nursing homes and churches. He also enjoyed watching and attending dirt track races and NASCAR.

Earl was born on December 13, 1939, in Mohawk, Tennessee, to the late Clarence “Tex” Climer &Lucy Mae Ward Hollin. He married Marjorie Scarlett Climer on October 24, 1959, in Seymour and she survives in Columbus.

Other survivors include his children: Doris Climer-Pearson &Brian Climer; grandchildren: Jeremy Climer, Chad Decker, Delana Pearson, Kelsey Pearson, Sasha Climer, Dylan Burge, &Derrick Burge; great grandchildren: Zofia Climer, Reagan Decker, &Weston Decker; brothers: Robert &Charles Climer, Robert &Greg Wilson; sisters: Marie Harris, Shirley Trowbridge, Sue Gans, Debra Climer Munson, Shirley Lawson, &Melissa Climer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Harold “Buck” Wilson; and brother, Steve Wilson.

Funeral Services for Earl will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, with Marvin Wright &Jeremy Climer officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Jonesville Christian Church.
