The State Road 258 bridge over the East Fork White River overflow will be closed soon to complete a superstructure replacement project.

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. plans to close the State Road 258 bridge over the East Fork White River overflow to complete a superstructure replacement project starting on or after Monday.

The bridge, located 1.81 miles west of State Road 11, is expected to remain closed for up to 120 days. Drivers should use the official detour route, which follows State Road 135 to U.S. 50 to State Road 11.

The $3.9 million contract was awarded in March and also includes a superstructure replacement on State Road 11 that began in June near Rockford.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution and avoid distractions in and near active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
