Braves fall at Greensburg
The Brownstown Central tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss at Greensburg on Tuesday night.
Pierson Wheeler was the lone winner for the Braves, winning his match at two singles 6-0, 6-3.
Smith Hackman lost 6-4, 6-0 at one singles, Lane Steward lost 7-5, 6-7 (5), 8-10 at three singles, the one doubles team of Connor Gwin and Bryce Reaser lost 6-2, 6-2, and the two doubles team of Evan Schneider and Elix Preston lost 6-0, 6-4.
The Braves (3-3) will look to bounce back today at Austin.
Volleyball
Seymour falls to Floyd
The Seymour volleyball team lost 25-18, 25-22, 25-23 at Floyd Central on Tuesday.
Olivia Fish led the Owls in hitting, going 30-32 with 19 kills. Breanna Lawrence went 29-32 with five kills, and Anna Fish went 14-15 with two kills. As a team, Seymour went 96-107 with 32 kills.
Fish served 10-11 with three aces, Lawrence 9-10 with one ace and Raeann Baker 7-8 with one ace. Addi Lemon had 30 assists, while Fish had 17 digs.
The Owls’ JV team lost 25-20, 20-25, 10-15. Emerson Johnson had nine kills, Maddie Schrader had four and Zoe Williams had three. Kenzie Gagner had 18 assists, while Jamie Bobb had 12 digs.
The freshman team lost 25-12, 25-7. Bailey Barr had two kills, while Kailey Lawson had one. Kennady Hardman had five assists, and Lawson had two digs.
The Owls are now 8-2 and will play Jennings County on Thursday.
Panthers top Braves
Brownstown Central’s varsity team lost 25-23, 25-18, 25-16 to Bloomington South on Tuesday.
The Braves are now 4-5 this season and play at New Albany on Thursday.
