Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups in Seymour and Crothersville plan to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in September.

Books are available to check out at the library checkout desks or may be available digitally through OverDrive/Libby or hoopla.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at Chicago’s Pizza, 1940 E. Tipton St., Suite B, Seymour. Information Services Manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “Sisters in Arms” by Kaia Alderson. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Fantastic Fiction will meet in the Seymour Library meeting room and discuss “Mary Jane” by Jessica Anya Blau at 11 a.m. Sept. 16. Led by circulation department staff, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet in the library meeting room and share thoughts on “Homeland Elegies” by Ayad Akhtar at 6 p.m. Sept. 21. Crothersville Coordinator Cindy Huckleberry will lead the discussion. The group is open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement.

Teens are invited to Scene Reading, a group for readers in grades 6 to 12. The group will meet in the Seymour Library Teen Scene at 4 p.m. Sept. 27. Teen Specialist Hillary Pacheco will lead the discussion of “Shatter Me” by Tahereh Mafi.
