Orders being taken for native plant sale

The Jackson County Invasive Partnership will be having a native plant sale.

In partnership with the Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District, Aquatic Control, Premier Companies, Department of Natural Resources and State of Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management, the sale will promote some of southern Indiana’s finest native shrubs, trees and flower seeds.

JCIP is offering shrubs, pasture rose, buttonbush, spicebush, elderberry, downy serviceberry and ninebark. Also, redbud and black gum trees and flower seed packets including butterfly weed, foxglove beardtongue, lanceleaf coreopsis and prairie blazingstar.

Prepaid orders are required by Sept. 16, and plants can be picked up between 4 and 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the office of Starve Hollow State Recreation Area, 4345 S. County Road 275W, Vallonia.
