Columbus Symphony Orchestra announces season

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the 2022-23 season titled “Celebrating a Century of Great Music.”

The volunteer orchestra’s goal is to provide the community with accessible and affordable classical music performances. The volunteer musicians represent a diverse selection of ages, skill sets and backgrounds and share a desire to pursue lifelong learning through music.

Five concerts, which will begin at 3:30 p.m., are planned. The dates are Oct. 23, Dec. 4, Feb. 19, April 23 and June 4, and the venue is The Commons Custer and Nugent Performance Hall, 300 Washington St., Columbus.

Season tickets may be purchased in advance at csoindiana.org. The cost is $40 for adult and $20 for senior/student season tickets. It’s free for children 12 and under. Individual concert tickets also may be purchased in advance online ($10 adults; $5 seniors/students) or at the door ($15 adults; $10 seniors/students).

The orchestra also is seeking musicians who play violin, viola, cello, bass, oboe, French horn, bassoon and trumpet. For information about joining, contact Music Director Josh Aerie at [email protected] or board President Rachel Wilken at [email protected] Auditions are not required.
