Beta Kappa Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha is sponsoring the 2022 Oktoberfest Prince and Princess Contest.

All boys and girls who are residents of Jackson County and are between the ages of 6 and 10 before the Oktoberfest are eligible to enter this contest. This year’s festival is Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

The winning prince and princess are determined by who raises the most money. All contestants who turn in money will receive prizes, have their picture in The Tribune and be eligible to ride in the parade.

The crowned prince and princess will each receive a bicycle provided by Beta Kappa and other prizes. All contestants turning in donations will receive a bag full of prizes.

The deadline for all applicants to register is Sept. 16. Applicants are able to start collecting votes as soon as they are registered.

Applications are available online at seymouroktoberfest.com under the Entertainment tab or by contacting Brenda Hardesty at 812-371-6936 after 6 p.m. or Beth White at 812-445-3815 after 6 p.m. They also are able to take registrations over the phone.

Funds raised by this project will benefit various Beta Kappa philanthropic projects and ways and means. Some of the annual projects are Jackson County United Way, Community Provisions of Jackson County, Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry, The Arc of Jackson County, Easter Seals and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
