SEYMOUR

Gary Lee Stoops, 68, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on August 6, 2022, at home. He was born on April 5, 1954, in Wyoming, Ohio to Delores Steele and William Henry Stoops III.

Gary served his country in the Marines. He was a truck driver and had worked at Seymour Houseware and Boknecht Trucking. He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion in Seymour. He enjoyed being in nature.

Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty Jo Sciarra Stoops; his children Shawna Stoops, Michelle Reyes, Ryan (Laura), Jeffrey (Vickie), and Patrick; his stepdaughter, Debra Ghiloni; his stepson, Todd Martin; 12 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Jenifer (Jim) Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter Beth Martin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
