SEYMOUR

Tom Weaver, 65, of Seymour, Indiana, died on August 7, 2022, after being treated for a glioblastoma brain tumor for almost two years. He was born on February 13, 1957. Tom married Sherry (Roberts) on July 11, 1981, and she survives. They were blessed with one daughter, Lindsey Weaver, who also survives and currently resides in Columbus, Indiana. Tom was the son of Carroll Weaver, who preceded him in death, and Thelma Weaver, who survives in Brownstown, Indiana.

Tom graduated in 1975 from Brownstown Central High School. He was most recently employed by Morgan Foods, Inc. in Austin, Indiana as a Maintenance Supervisor. He also had 40 years of experience in the plastics industry. Tom loved fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, mushroom hunting, puzzles, just to name a few. Tom was a people person and loved being with his family and friends. He had a very close relationship with his daughter, Lindsey, who inherited her father’s sense of humor and fun-loving nature, much to his pleasure. Tom always enjoyed joking and teasing but was also a serious mentor to his family members, co-workers, and anyone who was having a hard time looking on the bright side of life. He felt like a blessed man even as he became ill and lost the ability to do the things he loved. One of the endeavors he loved most was being a co-owner of “Nothead Tackle” with his brother-in-law, Mike Spieker. Tom was very self-motivated and enjoyed growing a business, meeting with customers and sponsoring fishing tournaments.

In addition to his wife, daughter and mother, Tom is survived by a sister, Beth (Steve) Bowling of Crothersville, Indiana, and a brother Bill (Deb) Sons of Seymour, Indiana. His brother, Rick Sons of Indianapolis, Indiana preceded him in death. Other survivors include four sisters-in-law, Edie Sons (Mark) Drews, Deb (Chuck) Havron, Brenda (Mike) Spieker, and Diane (Tom) Gott, a brother-in-law Randy Roberts, a niece, Kelly Hartman and three nephews, Jeremy, Gavin, and Landon Sons.
