Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Crothersville has teamed up with other local churches in Jackson and Scott counties to collect donations for those in eastern Kentucky who have been devastated by the recent floods.

Donations will be accepted through Aug. 12. Trucks will leave Aug. 13 to deliver.

People will be at the church, 302 W. Dixon St., from 4 to 8 p.m. the next two Thursdays to take donations, but other drop-off times can be arranged.

All donations will be accepted, but things that are known to be needed include water (cases or gallons), cleaning supplies (trash bags, sponges, gloves, bleach, brooms, shovels, paper towels, etc.), clothes, shoes, baby items (bottles, diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, etc.), adult diapers and hygiene products for men and women.

Also, blankets, pillows, Android and Apple cellphone charging cords, flashlights and batteries, dog food, cat food, first aid basics (Tylenol, ibuprofen, Band-aids, peroxide, etc.), paper goods (toilet paper, paper plates, disposable forks and spoons, throw-away pans, Ziploc bags, etc.) and nonperishable food.
